Police Blotter: Scratch Repair Scam Reported on Rockville Pike

Scam on Rockville Pike

Two men offered to repair scratches on a vehicle at Montrose Crossing Shopping Center, 12097 Rockville Pike, for a set price, but failed to fully repair the scratches and then demanded a higher amount of money. Police described one of the men as Middle-Eastern, 5 feet 8, about 200 pounds with acne on his face. The other was a white male, about 6 feet 2, with short yellow hair and tattoos on his arm.

Bethesda

Commercial burglary at The Walker Group

Police did not know how entry was made, but property was taken from The Walker Group at 4720 Montgomery Lane sometime between July 25 and July 28.

Residential burglary on Owen Place

Someone broke into a residence in the 46300 block of Owen Place sometime between July 25 and July 27 and took property.

Someone took property from an open garage in the 8500 block of Garfield Street around 11 p.m. on July 27.

Attempted robbery on Frederick Road

Two male teens, one 17 and the other 18, were arrested after police said they attempted to assault and rob someone in the 15900 block of Frederick Road around 10:30 p.m. on July 22.

Man arrested in assault

A 54-year-old Rockville man was arrested in an assault at N. Stonestreet Avenue and Frederick Avenue around 7 p.m. on July 28. Police said the victim knew the man.

18 vehicles burglarized in King Farm area

Cash, GPS devices and iPods were among the items taken from 18 vehicles that were burglarized in the King Farm area from July 20 to July 29. Police said the vehicles were left unlocked and did not show signs of forced entry.

Woman arrested in assault on Lambertina Place

A 48-year-old Rockville woman was arrested in an assault in the 13700 block of Lambertina Place around 1 a.m. on July 24.

Vehicles burglarized on Rockville Pike

Five vehicles were burglarized in commercial lots on Rockville Pike from July 20 to July 29. All victims reported that entry was forced and that items were taken.

Kensington

Residential burglary on Murdock Road

Someone forced their way into a residence in the 3400 block of Murdock Road and took property on July 24 sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11:50 p.m.
