The Bethesda Urban Partnership this week announced the nine finalists for the $10,000 Trawick Prize, an annual event for local artists at downtown Bethesda’s Gallery B.
The finalists will have their works on display at the gallery (7700 Wisconsin Ave., Suite E) from Sept. 3 to Sept. 27 and the first, second and third place winners will be announced on Thursday, Sept. 4. A “young” artist prize will also be anounced.
The finalists are Larry Cook, of Landover Hills, Lisa Dillin, Neil Feather, Zoe Friedman and Nicole Lenzi of Baltimore and Kim Llerena, Jonathan Monaghan, Martine Workman and Naoko Wosugi of Washington, D.C.
The event is organized by BUP and the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District. It’s namesake, Carol Trawick, is a Bethesda philanthropist and longtime booster of the local arts scene.
BUP said it got more than 400 entries for this year’s award.
