North Bethesda Accident Leaves Pedestrian With Life Threatening Injuries

Montgomery County Police said a 24-year-old Bethesda man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Wednesday night on Rockville Pike.

Police said the man — who they did not identify — was crossing the southbound lanes of Rockville Pike at Executive Boulevard when he was struck by the vehicle of driver Madani Diallo, 57, of Adelphi.

The accident happened at about 11:15 p.m. Police said an on-duty officer witnessed the collision and police and rescue personnel soon responded. Diallo, who was driving a Toyota Venza, remained on the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to Suburban Hospital. Police said he remains there Thursday morning.
