Bethesda’s biggest annual street festival requires some outside assistance.
The Bethesda Urban Partnership is seeking 100 volunteers to help set up and run the 25th annual Taste of Bethesda, set for Saturday, Oct. 11 in Woodmont Triangle.
The event last year brought between 38,000 and 40,000 people to Norfolk, Fairmont, St Elmo, Cordell and Del Ray Avenues.
BUP is recruiting for five shifts throughout the day, starting with set-up teams from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. that will place tablecloths, hang signs and help restaurants gear up.
There are two shifts for ticket sellers and drink tents, plus a roving team that will relieve other volunteers for short breaks. BUP is also looking for volunteers to distribute parking information and event maps from downtown parking garages and lots.
Volunteers must be at least 16, and volunteers younger than 18 require a permission form. Each team will have a captain to lead the way. For more information, visit the BUP site.
