On Tuesday Council members will be briefed by county officials about the local population of unaccompanied minors and what type of structures are in place to address their needs. Montgomery County Public Schools estimates there are about 3,000 international students who enroll in the schools every year, although the staff report doesn’t state how many are unaccompanied minors. The briefing is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Beautiful week ahead – It’s shaping up to be a wonderful weather week. The National Weather Service predicts a chance of showers tonight, but after that it’s all sunshine. Tuesday through Friday is expected to be in the low-80s, sunny and sometimes partly cloudy, with lows dropping into the 60s at night.

The recommendations include eliminating the boards’ credit cards and replacing them with a per diem allowance for members to use while traveling on board business. The board’s spending practices drew scrutiny in recent months after improper purchases were reported. The action item is scheduled to be discussed at 7:30 p.m. Monday night.
