Weekend Events: Bethesda Outdoor Movie Series Wraps Up

Bethesda Outdoor Movie Series – Friday and Saturday – Norfolk and Auburn Ave.

Bethesda Urban Partnership’s movie series wraps up this weekend on the corner of Norfolk Avenue and Auburn Avenue in Woodmont Triangle. On Friday, catch Pitch Perfect and Saturday see Top Gun. Both movies start at 9 p.m. and admission is free. Supply your own seating. Parking is available at the Auburn Avenue garage.

Sons of Pirates – Friday – Rockville Town Square

This concert from beach-themed cover band Sons of Pirates is free at Rockville Town Square’s Dawson’s Market Stage at 6:30 p.m. Friday. It’s the latest installment of the City of Rockville’s Friday Night Live concert series in the heart of the city’s commercial district.

Saturday Swing – Saturday – Glen Echo Park

Learn to swing dance to the music of New York City’s Gas House Gorillas at Glen Echo Park’s historic Spanish Ballroom (7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo). The dance begins at 9 p.m., but an hour-long lesson starts at the ballroom at 8 p.m. Cost is $18 at the door and no partner is necessary.

Ziggy Marley – Saturday – The Fillmore Silver Spring

The son of reggae legend Bob Marley visits The Fillmore Silver Spring (8656 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring) on Saturday at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are available for purchase online for $31.

Joe Clair and Friends – Saturday – Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club

No jazz at the Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club (7719 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda) on Saturday; comedy instead. A trio of veteran comedians – Tony Woods, Nikki Carr and Eddie Bryant – will perform shows at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Dining tickets are sold out for the early show, but general admission tickets remain.
