Man, woman die after July 4 accidents

Two people died after motorcycle accidents on July 4 in the county.

This first incident occurred about 5 p.m. on Friday, when a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle traveling east on University Boulevard West in Silver Spring struck a curb, causing the driver to be ejected, police said.

Kyle Brett Faulkner, 43, of Beltsville, later died from his injuries at a local hospital.

The second incident happened about an hour later, around 6:20 p.m., when a man and woman on a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle traveling east on Sandy Spring Road in Burtonsville collided with a 2007 Honda CR-V that was turning left onto Sandy Spring. The passenger on the motorcycle, Ebonie Janielle Cray, 30, of New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring, died after being transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the motorcycle, Carlos Vinicius De Oliveira, 33, of Woodbine Drive in Laurel, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the CR-V, Allan Francis Mulligan, 82, of Burtonsville, and the passenger, Helene Cromwell Mulligan, 78, were not seriously injured, according to police.

22-year-old killed in July 4 stabbing in Gaithersburg

Bryan Robert Hall, 22, of Gaithersburg died after an early morning stabbing on July 4 in the 900 block of Curry Ford Lane in Gaithersburg.

Police have charged Pavel S. Ivanov, 24, of Lake Breeze Drive in North Potomac, with first-degree murder.

Police said Ivanov knew Hall and that the two had agreed to meet on Curry Ford Lane, where they got into an argument around 2:30 a.m. The argument escalated and police said Ivanov stabbed Hall multiple times before leaving the scene in his vehicle. Hall was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.

Police arrested Ivanov later on July 4.
