You can have it all—10-foot ceilings, custom cabinetry, the latest appliances, private wine storage, and ‘white glove’ services—at The Lauren, the new condominium building that broke ground on Hampden Lane in Bethesda today.
But it all comes with a price. The condos are currently priced between $1.5 million for a 1,400 square foot, two-bedroom apartment up to $4.8 million for a four-bedroom 3,500 square foot space, according to TTRSotheby’s International Realty.
The planned building generated early buzz with its sign that reads, “Homes from the several millions.”
The developers, 1788 Holdings and Persimmon Capital Partners, said in a press release today that the 40-unit building at 4901 Hampden Lane is expected to be completed by the early spring of 2016.
“We challenged our world-class architectural and interior design teams to help us create a project which would redefine Washington, DC’s concept of luxury condominium living such that we could deliver a Best-in-Class development that would rival those found in certain other premier US gateway cities,” said Larry Goodwin, principal of 1788 holdings, in the press statement.
The project includes 29 “estate quality” units, which average over 2,500 square feet, as well as five guest suites and six lower priced units. The “estate quality” units all include high ceilings, high-end appliances, automated thermostats and electronic equipment, vented fireplaces; some have direct access elevators.
The building itself will feature a wine lounge and screening room, a roof top terrace, fitness center, underground parking and a concierge, according to The Lauren's website.
