MET Bethesda, the new concept by Boston restaurateur Kathy Sidell, is the latest restaurant to announce a lease at the new addition to the Westfield Montgomery mall.

Trustman plans to open the new 6,000 square foot restaurant across from the ArcLight movie theater in fall 2014, about the same time the theater plans to open.

Sidell owns five restaurants in Massachusetts, all of which play off the MET name, including The Metropolitan Club in Chestnut Hill and The Met Back Bay in Boston.

The 200-plus seat Bethesda restaurant will feature dishes from Sidell’s other restaurants like duo of tuna and salmon tartare, rigatoni Bolognese and an array of chopped salads. The restaurant plans to install a wood burning grill where cooks will make steaks and burgers, according to a press release.

Drink menu items announced this week are cocktails like the blood orange martini and house-made sangria, and something the Met Restaurant Group will try for the first time—on-tap-martinis.

The restaurant group’s Met Back Bay was greeted with a two-star review in The Boston Globe after it opened in 2011. “Everything doesn’t have to be perfect,” wrote the reviewer Devra First. “It just has to be consistently good. Met Back Bay isn’t quite there, but it still rises to the top of Newbury Street’s offerings. I’ll come back for that ham and cheese board. I’ll send the tourists and the businessmen, too.”

The restaurant will be located at the mall’s new dining terrace at 7101 Democracy Blvd.

Westfield Montgomery anticipates its new dining terrace, which will include both full service and fast-casual restaurants, will open this summer, while the cinemas are expected to open in the fall.
