Police Blotter: Woman Arrested after Assault in Bethesda

The following crimes were reported to Montgomery County Police between April 21 and April 29.

Alleged assault on Bradley

A 46-year-old Bethesda woman was arrested after an assault and residential burglary in the 4700 block of Bradley Boulevard on April 26. The victim knew the woman, according to police.

Vehicles broken into

Seven thefts from vehicles parked in Bethesda area garages on Wisconsin Avenue, Cheltenham Drive and Woodmont Avenue were reported between April 21 and April 29. There were signs of forced entry on some of the vehicles, and police reported minor items were taken.

Thefts from unlocked vehicles

Cash, credit cards and clothing were taken from three unlocked vehicles between April 21 and April 29. The vehicles were parked on Chamberlin Avenue, Greenway Drive and Westway Drive.

Salon burglary on Rockville Pike

A Rockville man, 33, and a Rockville woman, 32, were arrested after a burglary was reported at Stephen Anthony Salon, 12240 Rockville Pike, on April 24 at 1:25 a.m.

Property taken on Randolph Road

Someone took property from behind a building in the 5500 block of Randolph Road sometime between April 25 and April 28.

Residential burglary on College Parkway

Police arrested a 14-year-old Rockville girl in connection with a residential burglary around 9:30 a.m. on April 23 in the 500 block of College Parkway.

Chevy Chase Village

Vehicle break-ins

Two vehicles were broken into and property was taken overnight between April 24 and April 25. One car was on Milford Avenue, and the other was on East West Highway.

Kensington

Theft from behind building

Property was taken from behind a building in the 10900 block of Connecticut Avenue sometime between April 25 and April 28.

Silver Spring

Bank robbery

A man dubbed the “Lion Man” by the FBI because of the Detroit Lions hat he wore during multiple bank robberies in the D.C. and Baltimore areas struck the Capital One bank at 11261 New Hampshire Ave. at 12:38 p.m. on April 21. The FBI says the man then struck a Capital One Bank in Silver Spring on April 28, a Suntrust Bank in Silver Spring on May 1, and two banks in Columbia on April 30 and May 1 as well as a Wells Fargo in Baltimore on May 1. In most of the robberies the FBI says he handed a note to tellers demanding money and threatening to use a weapon, but in the most recent robbery in Columbia agents say he threatened a teller with a gun.

Armed robbery near Park & Ride

Four men, one armed with a handgun, threatened someone and took property on the path between the Park & Ride and Ballinger Terrace around 8:50 p.m. on April 24. Police did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects.

Indecent exposure on Flower Avenue

A man exposed himself and then fled around 10:30 a.m. near the corner of Flower Avenue and Piney Branch Road on April 26. Police described the suspect as a black man, about 5 feet 9 inches, wearing a blue baseball cap and dark sunglasses.

Robbery and assault

Three men assaulted someone and took property on Featherwood Court on April 28 at 3:30 p.m. Police did not provide detailed descriptions of the suspects.
