Original Report:
City Burger, the new burger restaurant being opened by the restaurateurs behind Food, Wine and Co. and Fish Taco, will open on May 14 in Chevy Chase.
The no frills casual burger spot at 7015 Wisconsin Avenue will specialize in four ounce patties, cooked on a griddle served with lettuce and tomato on a buttery bun, according to co-owners Francis Namin and Michael Harr.
“Our goal was to not add too many fancy toppings to each burger, but to really let the quality of the meat shine through,” said Harr, who also serves as the restaurant’s chef, in a press statement.
The small burgers are designed to be affordable with no burger priced at more than $7. The meat is sourced from a farm in the Midwest, according to the restaurant. Specialty burgers include the Pit Stop featuring cheddar, pepper relish, bacon and barbecue sauce; and the Pali Highway with pineapple, ham, spicy pickle and chile mayo.
Other menu items include hot dogs and half smokes, grilled cheddar cheese, and French fries. Milkshakes will also be a staple with varieties like vanilla and chocolate custard as well as the High Rise—a combination of vanilla custard, heath bar crumbles, salted caramel and fudge brownie.
The restaurant seats 15 and will also offer takeout.
