Tyber Bierhaus at 7525 Old Georgetown Road officially opened on Tuesday, March 18. The new restaurant is home to authentic Oktoberfest picnic tables, liter mugs from Munich's famed Hofbrauhaus, and 20 alternating taps pouring German, Czech and Belgian beers.
The restaurant is the idea of Mark Moore, a co-owner of the District's two St. Arnold's Mussel Bar locations, and Paul Uppole. German food items like sausages and potato pancakes are on the menu, but so are four of St. Arnold's most popular mussel dishes.
The restaurant was about half-filled early Tuesday evening, but the general manager said she was happy with the turnout considering they haven't started advertising.
