Seneca Valley Sugarloafers Volksmarch Club held it’s annual C&O Canal Winter Event on Saturday, Jan 18.
Walkers enjoyed a nice, sunny day and the never disappointing scenes along the 11km trail from Carderock Park to Olmsted Island at Great Falls. The early morning freezing temperatures didn’t stop some 100+ area club walkers from coming out to take in these sights & sounds. Along this stretch of the towpath is the widewater area, three locks, a lock house at Lock 16, of course, Great Falls overlook and so much more.
