Weekly Crime Report: Dec. 16 to Dec. 31

The December robbery of a Westlake Drive bank involved three suspects — one who served as the getaway driver:
A bank robbery occurred at Wells Fargo, 10305 Westlake Drive in Bethesda on Friday, 12/20 just after 4:00 p.m. The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: B/M, mid 30’s, 6′-6’3″/180 lbs., B/M, mid 30’s, clean shaven, handgun, B/M, driver 
That was one of three bank robberies in the MCP 2nd District in late December. Police believe the same man committed the other two, both at M&T Bank branches:
A bank robbery occurred at M & T Bank, 7920 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda on Thursday, 12/26 at 4:30 p.m.

A bank robbery occurred at M & T Bank, 10100 River Road in Rockville on Saturday, 12/21 at just before 5:00 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained proceeds.

Suspect: B/M, 35-40 5’7″-5’9″/170-180 lbs.; wearing a baseball cap

Nine thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Wednesday, 12/18 and Thursday, 12/19. Entry was forced in each incident; GPS and laptops were taken. Incidents occurred on Rosemary Hills Drive and Colston Drive in Chevy Chase.

A sexual assault occurred on Sunday, 12/29 at approximately 9:40 p.m at an address near Wisconsin Avenue and Chestnut Street in Bethesda. The suspect is known to the victim.

A robbery occurred in the 7600 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda on Saturday, 12/28 at approximately 11:00 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 25-35, 6’2″/220 lbs.

An armed robbery occurred in the 6700 block of Kenwood Forest Lane in Bethesda on Monday, 12/30 at approximately 6:15 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: Unk/M, 6′, wearing black clothing, black mask/scarf, and baseball cap, Unk/M, 6′, wearing black clothing, black mask/scarf, and baseball cap 

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 7100 block of Fairfax Road in Bethesda between Saturday, 12/21 and Sunday 12/22. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive in Chevy Chase between Thursday, 12/19 and Friday, 12/20. No forced entry; property taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 10300 block of Frederick Avenue in Kensington between Tuesday, 12/24 and Wednesday, 12/25. Forced entry; unknown what was taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at Extra Space Storage, 11850 Parklawn Drive in Rockville sometime between Tuesday, 12/17 and Wednesday, 12/18. No forced entry; property taken.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Thursday, 12/26 and Friday, 12/17. Forced entry; vehicle parts taken. Streets affected included: Kingswood Road, Aubinoe Farm Road and Dickens Avenue in Bethesda.

A commercial burglary occurred at St Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 5450 Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda sometime between the evening of Friday, 12/20 and the morning of Saturday, 12/21. Forced entry; property taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between Thursday, 12/19 and Friday, 12/20. Unknown entry; purses, cash and GPS taken. Incidents occurred on Haviland Drive and Blackwood Road in Bethesda.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 5300 block of McKinley Street in Bethesda on Wednesday, 12/18 between 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Attempted forced entry; property taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Wednesday, 12/18 and Thursday, 12/19. Unknown entry on two, forced entry on the other vehicles. Streets affected included Roosevelt Street, Rayburn Road, McKinley Street and Ewing Drive in Bethesda.

An armed robbery occurred in the 7500 block of Spring Lake Drive in Bethesda on Saturday, 12/21 at 10:10 p.m. The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: B/M, 5’9″/185 lbs., crew cut, B/M 

An armed robbery occurred in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard in Bethesda on Tuesday, 12/24 at 2:00 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: Male, age 30-35, 6’/150 lbs.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 9200 block of Vendome Drive in Bethesda on Friday, 12/20 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
