Bobby Flay to visit Westfield Montgomery Mall on October 22

Plus, an update on Bethesda's Smashburger

Bobby Flay fans will get a chance for a photo op with the television chef and restaurateur on Tuesday, October 22, when he heads to Westfield Montgomery Mall to open Bobby’s Burger Palace, the 16th location of his burger chain.

Flay will open the doors to his newest restaurant at noon, when he’ll be greeting customers, signing autographs and be available for photos. But he’ll also be floating between the front of the house and the kitchen, making sure the burgers are up to snuff.

The menu offers six-ounce burgers with 10 topping combinations, and any of the patties can be “crunchified” with potato chips, or made with ground turkey or chicken breast instead of beef.

This is the third Bobby’s Burger Palace for Maryland—restaurants in College Park and at the Maryland Live! Casino at Arundel Mills preceded the Bethesda locale. Another outlet is in the works for Baltimore’s Towson Square.

In other burger chain news—a bit farther afield—a new Smashburger is scheduled to open in Germantown on October 23 at the Shops at Seneca Meadows, 20640 Seneca Meadows Parkway, Suite D1.

Closer to home, the Smashburger opening in Bethesda is now slated for sometime in December. The restaurant at 4903 Cordell Avenue will be the fourth outlet in the metropolitan area for the rapidly expanding international chain.
