August 6, 2013 12:30 p.m.

Washington Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez and a few teammates will be in Bethesda on Thursday to hold a day camp to benefit his foundation.

The Gio Gonzalez Foundation “provides support and funding to children and families in need of medical assistance.” The left-handed pitcher and teammates Ian Desmond, Wilson Ramos, Anthony Rendon and Denard Span will be at Shirley Povich Field (10600 Westlake Dr.) to run a baseball clinic for kids.

There are a few spots left at $250 each. A VIP Luncheon after the camp is $99 and will include an autograph signing, photo opportunity and auction.

All campers will get a t-shirt, Topps trading cards and a signed Gonzalez photo.
