First date

The first date took place at a sushi restaurant in Wilmington, Del. and their conversation lasted until 5:00 a.m.

The proposal

On New Years Eve, Evan proposed during a romantic dinner. He snuck the ring into their bill and said, “This is strange. Our waiter put a diamond ring in our bill.” The next thing Kathy knew, Evan was down on one knee proposing to her.

What she loves most about him

"I love his sense of humor. He always knows how to make me laugh and smile. I also love how patient he is with me because I know I can be stubborn, at times!”

What he loves most about her

"I love her kind heart. She is so thoughtful and always considers others before herself.  I remember the first time that I walked into her classroom, I could feel the love that she has for her students. They absolutely admire her and it’s no surprise to me that she is a terrific teacher."

Favorite moment of the day

"Our first dance. We had a choreographed dance and spent weeks practicing it at a dance studio. We were very nervous that we would forget a step or that Evan would drop me, but we ending up nailing it."

Favorite detail

"We remember walking into the ballroom for our reception and it took our breath away. All the little details that didn’t seem so important while we were planning our wedding looked absolutely spectacular."
