Pete’s New Haven Style Apizza’s fourth location in the metropolitan area—due to open in Silver Spring tomorrow—has gotten jazzed up a bit this time around.
“The new store has the same feel [of the others] but everything about the look has been raised a couple of notches,” says Michael Wilkinson, the local mini-chain’s marketing manager. “We took a more formal approach with the design than with the other restaurants.”
That doesn’t mean the place is formal—it’s totally casual. But unlike the restaurant’s Friendship Heights location, which is relatively non-descript, the Silver Spring branch is clad in lots of white-washed pine, metal moss green lighting pendants, bright red kitchen tile, and a checkerboard pattern of about 80 exposed light bulbs on the ceiling.
“The lighting is more intentional and integrated into the design,” says Wilkinson.
The new restaurant will seat 138, and will be the first location with booths. As for the menu, it’ll be the same apizza, pastas and panini.
