On May 11, 2013 Lawyers, ambassadors, journalists, and business leaders came together for a common cause on Saturday night, helping the annual Children’s Ball raise a record-breaking $2 million for pediatric care and research at Children’s National Medical Center. Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) received the inaugural Children’s Advocacy Award for his outstanding support and tireless work for children.
Chaired by Susanna and Jack Quinn, the event had a theme of “It’s a Small World After All,” and was held at the National Building Museum and attracted 850 attendees.
Bret Baier, anchor of “Special Report with Bret Baier” on Fox News emceed for the fifth year in a row and Norah O’Donnell, co-anchor for CBS’s This Morning, helped Baier lead the successful live auction during the event.
Funds raised at the Children’s Ball provide vital support to Children’s National – funding advanced care, investing in research, and helping all children receive the same level of care.
