The old bd’s Mongolian Grill space at 7201 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda has been rented to Panera Bread, the St. Louis-based chain that operates 1,673 bakery-cafes in North America. There are 15 locations within 10 miles of Bethesda.
Although a number of restaurateurs—including Francis Namin from Food, Wine & Co. across the street—had looked at the property, the leasing company was interested in a tenant that could provide breakfast, lunch and to-go foods for workers in the office building.
Bd’s Mongolian Grill closed in August after more than 14 years in that location. The opening date for the new Panera Bread was not available.
