Ri Ra closing in September

Popular Irish pub not renewing lease

Ri Ra, the Irish pub and restaurant on Bethesda’s Elm Street, will be closing in early September. The popular gathering spot, which opened 10 years ago, is not renewing its lease, confirmed bar manager Paul Corey.

“We decided not to renew the lease, but we’ll stay until the very last day,” which will be the first or second week in September, Corey said.

Ri Ra, which has 11 other restaurants in the U.S., will be opening a new location on M Street in Georgetown within a week or two of the Bethesda restaurant closing, Corey said.
