On April 28, more than 700 people came to the Bullis School in Potomac to participate in the 5th annual Bullis Gives Back 5k/2.5k. This year's theme was "Kids Helping Kids," and the event included a new Buddy Run that paired special needs students from the Diener School, The Treatment and Learning Center's Katherine Thomas School (TLC/KTS) and KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now) with Bullis students.

These buddies enjoyed a special fun run around the Bullis track, and then walkers and runners took off to run the School's cross-country course, taking in the beautiful weather and enthusiasm of the crowd. Adding to the fun were race emcees Tucker Barnes and Julie Wright from Fox 5 and MIX 107.3FM's Carson, along with Slapshot from the Washington Capitals and Clint Khoury from Finally Fit Studios who lead everyone in pre-race warm-ups for all the events.

Thanks to all the participants and many generous sponsors, the event raised more than $60,000 for Diener, KEEN, and TLC/KTS along with S.A.F.E. (a fund that covers activity fees and textbooks for Bullis students in need) and Habitat for Humanity sites that the Bullis Class of 2013 will work at in the weeks before their graduation.'
