Developer Wants To Restart Rock Spring Centre – D.C.-based DRI Development Services is looking for new partners in a mixed-use project slated for the intersection of Rockledge Drive and Rock Spring Drive. The company is hoping for a groundbreaking this summer, which could mean delivery of Phase 1 of the project by spring 2014. [Washington Business Journal]

Jack Kay, Area Home Builder, Dies – Jack Kay, the man who built many post World War II-era suburban neighborhoods in Montgomery County, died on April 21 in Chevy Chase. He was 87. Kay and his brother-in-law Harold Greenberg would personally handle home sales. [Washington Post]

YMCA To Celebrate Healthy Kids Day Tomorrow – The Bethesda-Chevy Chase YMCA (9401 Old Georgetown Rd.) will put on a number of activities – rockwall climbing, tennis, ballet, face painting and gymnastics included – as part of its effort to help kids get a healthy start on summer. The YMCA says research shows children gain weight two to three times faster during summer vacation and can fall months behind academically without out-of-school learning opportunities. [YMCA]

Bethesda Company In Line For Silver Line Construction Contract – Capital Rail Constructors, a group made up of the Bethesda-based Clark Construction Group and Kiewit Infrastructure South Co., is in line to win the contract to build phase two of Metro’s Silver Line in Northern Virginia.
