Farm markets are starting to sprout all over, including the local Central Farm Markets, which celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Bethesda location this year.

Gator Ron’s Bloody Marys Launch at BlackFinn.
Bethesda resident Ron Griffith passed away from ALS in 2011, but his longtime dream that his Bloody Mary drink mixes and wing sauces become a commercial venture is turning into reality. His wife Connie Griffith and friend Debbie Kaufman have been selling Gator Ron’s products since last year, with a portion of the profits going to the Robert Packard Center for ALS Research at John Hopkins, where Ron Griffith was treated.
On Sunday, BlackFinn will begin serving Gator Ron’s Bloody Marys, with an event to launch the partnership. Hot heads will love the spicy version. Drinks are $5.

Town of Chevy Chase Bake-Off.
Last year’s savory and sweet pie bake-off was a fun and filling affair and this year’s event promises to be so as well.
The Fourth Annual Town of Chevy Chase Bake-Off broadens the universe of sweets to include pretty much anything sugar-laden—pudding, pastries, candies, chocolates and more.

Pizza Launch at Pacci’s Trattoria & Pasticerria.
Pacci’s Neapolitan Pizzeria owner Spiro Gioldasis will start offering his signature pies at his Silver Spring sister restaurant, using the same type of wood-fired oven as the pizzeria. The entrée menu at the trattoria will be pared down to six of the most popular dishes.
