Rebuilding Together Montgomery County (RTMC) announced Robby Brewer as the 2013 RT Honors Reception Award Recipient at a reception on Wednesday, April 3. Rebuilding Together Montgomery County is a nonprofit housing organization that provides home repair, energy efficiency, and accessibility modifications at no cost for low-income homeowners who wish to remain at home in safety, but are struggling with hazards that endanger their health and/or ability to remain in the home.
Mr. Brewer, a land use & zoning and healthcare attorney with Lerch, Early & Brewer who currently serves on the Corporate Advisory Council for Rebuilding Together Montgomery County, was honored due to his commitment to community service, both specifically as it relates to his leadership within the Rebuilding Together community, but also for his generous nature with many nonprofits in the greater Washington DC area.
“Robby Brewer is a rare gem for any nonprofit leader. He is someone willing to listen intently as a sounding board, mobilize his network for your benefit, and personally commit to work he feels important while also encouraging those in his sphere of influence to get involved, too. We have been so fortunate to have Robby champion Rebuilding Together Montgomery County for nearly a decade, and his guidance has allowed us to grow as an organization and grow financially. We are so appreciative of his leadership and friendship,” said Susan Hawfield, Executive Director for RTMC.
Brewer was toasted at the 2013 RT Honors Reception on April 3, 2013 at the newly opened Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club in Bethesda. Nearly 200 colleagues and friends came out to cheer him in thanks for his service to Rebuilding Together and our greater community. County Executive Isiah Leggett, Councilmember Nancy Floreen, Karen McManus from Congressman Chris Van Hollen’s Office and Theresa Testoni from the Governor’s Commission on Community Service and Volunteerism were also on-hand to acknowledge Robby’s accomplishments.
