So it’ll be a while longer until we get to kvell over an Attman’s corned beef sandwich.
The Baltimore landmark, opening its second location in the Cabin John Shopping Center & Mall in Potomac, had planned to start serving its signature deli dishes this month.
But owner Marc Attman said that the space—the site of the former Celebrity Deli—is now being completely gutted and renovated. Initially, Attman said he thought he’d retain the general layout of the restaurant, paint it, buy some new kitchen equipment and be open just for lunch.
But he changed his mind, and is going for a complete makeover from floor to ceiling, with new electrical and air conditioning systems, new bathrooms and more. “Everything is going to be brand new,” he said. “It will take a lot more time and a bigger investment on our part, but it will be better for us and the community,” he said.
The restaurant will also be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Attman is optimistically shooting for a June opening.
