On Saturday, March 16, Stone Ridge and the Yellow Ribbon Fund hosted their second annual Parents’ Day Out for patients from Walter Reed National Medical Center and their caregivers.
From 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., volunteers from the Stone Ridge community entertained the children of injured service members and caregivers from Walter Reed with face painting, basketball, movies, a moon bounce, and art projects, while their parents went out to spend some much-needed time together.
With the help of shuttle buses donated by Stone Ridge and Freddy’s Lobster, moms and dads from Walter Reed rode into downtown Bethesda for lunch donated by local restaurants Mussel Bar, Freddy’s Lobster, and Cava Mezze Grill and went to the movies with passes donated to the Yellow Ribbon Fund by Regal Cinemas.
