The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture has announced its October schedule of events, including its annual Fall Frolic Halloween festival.
On Saturday, Oct. 27, the Fall Frolic will feature pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating and a costume parade around Glen Echo Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Cajun & Zydeco Music & Dance Festival
Saturday, Oct. 6, from noon to midnight.
DC Dance Challenge
Sunday, Oct. 14, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Paint Glen Echo
Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and Oct. 21. The Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery sponsors Paint Glen Echo, a landscape painting competition with the mission of preserving and protecting America’s National Parks to help build better futures for families, children and our planet.
Perspectives in Glass
Oct. 6 to Oct. 28. The Glen Echo Park Partnership and Glen Echo Glassworks present recent works by Glassworks artists. Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m. Artists reception is Oct. 13, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Neighborhoods
Sept. 7 to Oct. 15. Photoworks Gallery at Glen Echo Park presents Neighborhoods, a two-part exhibition including the group project 24 Hours East of the River and Alec Dann’s Markets portfolio. Opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 22, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Paintings by Jim Cobrent
Oct. 6 to Oct. 7. The Yellow Barn Studio, Glen Echo Park’s resident painting and drawing studio, presents works by Jim Cobrent in the Yellow Barn Gallery. Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
2011 PhotoSlam Winners
Oct. 19 to Nov. 12. Photoworks Gallery at Glen Echo Park presents an exhibition featuring the 2011 PhotoSlam winners.
