A uniquely-themed clearance sale is coming back to Norfolk Avenue this fall as area retailers look to clean out their stock.
The “Upscale Yard Sale,” which local businesses helped set up for the first time last fall and again last spring, will take place on Oct. 27 in outdoor tents in Woodmont Triangle.
Creative Parties Ltd. (8011 Woodmont Ave.) and The Blue House (7770 Woodmont Ave.) are two of the stores that have helped organize the event, which gives people like The Blue House manager Jill Godfrey a chance to market their niche products in a different setting.
“It gets us out here in the public and in the community and they get to know us,” Godfrey said. “It helps that we’re one block away to try to gain that recognition.”
The Blue House sells products including rugs, furniture, bedding, soaps and art work.
The yard sale concept kicks in with the significantly slashed down prices. Godfrey is expecting 10 to 12 stores to take part in October’s event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
