Sherry Kavyani, who owns Les Enfants in Bethesda, is closing her doors at the end of August. “It’s very sad,” she says.
Les Enfants has been the go-to store for upscale European children’s clothing for 25 years. Located in the upper level of Westwood Shopping Center ll, the shop carries high-end party dresses, blazers and slacks for school uniforms, bar and bat mitzvah outfits and baby clothes.
She says there aren’t many retailers left in her building. “”Once Jeanne’s Shoes closed two ago,” Kavyani says “it hasn’t been the same.” She adds that the economy hasn’t helped either.
However, there is a bright side. Kavyani says she’d like to stay in the area and will scout out another location.
Expect big sales over the next few weeks. “I don’t want to take even one piece of merchandise with me,” Kavyani says.
