The spotlight was on Bethesda Lane Friday night as throngs of fans lined up to meet Andy Cohen, Bravo TV’s executive vice president of development and talent, who was there signing his book, Most Talkative.
“Andy, I love you. Can I give you a hug?” was the oft-repeated refrain heard just outside the windows of Redwood restaurant, where inside, VIP guests noshed on hors d’ouevres and waited their turn to meet Cohen, the VIP guest at Bethesda Row’s Front Row fashion event.
Fun fact: Cohen has an amazing gift for signing books while simultaneously smiling into the camera. He never skipped a beat.
Rounding out the Bravo coalition were four of the five Real Housewives of D.C. (Cohen is executive producer of the series), Lynda Erkiletian, Mary Amons, Stacie Scott Turner and Catherine Ommanney, all taking, literally, front row seats at the show with Cohen. Missing was White House party crasher Michaele Salahi. And in the midst of all this girlfriend fun, was CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, out of the Situation Room and into the fashion-loving crowds.
The runway show featured spring and summer ensembles from Bethesda Row stores including Lucy, Luna, Ginger, Urban Chic, Wear It Well, Sassanova and Pink Palm. There was a smattering of everything—print dresses, flowing palazzo pants, lace and colorblocking. We coveted a Calypso linen turquoise tunic from Ginger ($295), J.Brand aqua skinny jeans from Luna ($176) and a Calypso eyelet top from Sassanova ($385).
The highlight, though, didn’t seem to be the clothes. Crowds whooped and hollered every time a certain male model stripped off his shirt and campily scowled at the crowd from behind dark sunglasses.
A fall preview rounded out the show. A fave was a Vakko New York dress with leather panels for $135 from Wear It Well. A first this year was Pine Cone sleepwear from Urban Country home furnishings shore. Find the looks you love below in our gallery.
