Kentlands Dog Show

A doggone good day

May 18, 2012 10:52 a.m.

It was a four-legged friend frenzy at the Kentlands/Lakelands Dog Show May 12 with fifty-four dogs competing in nine categories as hundreds of spectators cheered them on.

Ziva, the talented Corgi, wowed the crowd by balancing on the bottom of her owner’s feet while the owner’s legs were in mid-air.

Harley, the Shih Tzu, convinced owner Kathy McKee of Lakelands to don a beard for the show giving them the edge in the ‘looks most like owner’ category. And Buck, the Vizsla and Kentlands resident, was proud of his second place ribbon in the medium dog category.

McKee, who also served on the organizing committee calls the day “fetchingly fantastic canine fun”.

Emcee Joe Pritchard, owner of Pritchard Music Academy led the festivities, but had a dog in the show, too. “The dog show was a great event for the Kentlands/Lakelands community,” he notes. “It was wonderful to see all those beautiful dogs and their owners enjoying the day. I hope they had as much fun being there as I did emceeing.”

The Kentlands Community Foundation and Lakelands Social Committee teamed up to host the show that benefitted the foundation, Mutts Matter Rescue and Critters for the Cure.
