With our unusually warm spring, summer may be just around the corner. Local studios and gyms are coming up with a variety of ways to get our bodies and minds ready to take the heat.  Here’s a sampling:

ZenGo cycling studio on Cordell Avenue, known for its heart-pumping cycling classes with a “no judgment, Zen-like atmosphere,” is offering a Take Charge Challenge ($250) with Bethesda resident Elise Museles of Kale & Chocolate.

The 21-day program, which will involve nutrition and lifestyle choices, will kick off in May. They’ve also started cycling classes just for girls aged 12 through 17 Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. ]

New Rockville studio, extendyoga, has recently reopened after water damage kept it closed for a couple of weeks.

In addition to yoga classes, they are starting a five-week Bridal Bootcamp ($325; $300 if you sign up by April 13) on April 28. The program includes TRX suspension training, combat bootcamp, yoga and more.

In addition, the studio is involved with the community, offering gratis classes to women from the Interfaith Works Women's Homeless Shelter as well as a complimentary Sunday class in partnership with lululemon Bethesda. The studio also participates in fashion events with local boutiques.

And, finally for those who just want to feel the burn, Equinox Bethesda has just rolled out MetCon3, a 45-minute class comprised of a series of 10 exercises using weights, plyometrics, and your own body weight designed to get your heart pumping. The movements are done in three rounds, which build in intensity, with a 90 second rest in between.

Look for it at Equinox Bethesda Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and 5:45 p.m.
