Stone Ridge School and the Yellow Ribbon Fund hosted a ‘Parents’ Day Out’ for patients and their caregivers from Walter Reed Hospital on Saturday, March 24.
From 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Stone Ridge student and parent volunteers entertained the children of injured service members and caregivers from Walter Reed with face painting, basketball, movies, dancing, and art projects, while their parents went out to spend some much-needed time together.
With the help of a shuttle bus donated by International Limousine Service, Inc., moms and dads from Walter Reed rode into downtown Bethesda for lunch donated by local restaurants Cava Mezze Grill, Freddy’s Lobster, and Mussel Bar, and went to the movies with passes donated to the Yellow Ribbon Fund by Regal Cinemas.
