This just in: Luke’s Lobster, the seafood shack started by Luke Holden, a 27-year-old business graduate of Georgetown University, is opening another location in the old Cacao space on Bethesda Lane, hopefully by May.
This will be the sixth location for Holden, who grew up in Maine, and whose dad owns a sustainable seafood processing company there.
There are four Luke’s Lobsters in Manhattan, and one in Washington’s Penn Quarter. The company also operates a food truck. The new location will have the largest outdoor seating area of all the restaurants–there will be space for 20 seats on the Bethesda Lane promenade.
The menu is small but to the point, offering lobster, shrimp and crab rolls, plus clam chowder, crab claws, Whoopie pies and Maine Root soda.

Also opening, on Bethesda Row’s Woodmont Avenue: The first non-airport locale for Vino Volo, the wine bar, restaurant and wine shop situated in a dozen airports, including Dulles (see www.vinovolo.com).
Watch this space for opening dates and details on both newcomers.
