On March 4, more than 100 Westbrook Elementary fathers and daughters spent a sunny afternoon together at the very first (and sold out) Father Daughter Spring Sweetheart Dance.
Daughters arrived with their dads (or uncles or granddads) along a red carpet entrance. Once inside, they were surrounded by spring-time cherry blossom decor in the reception area which then led them to a pink and white dance hall filled with music, treats, balloons and pink ribbons everywhere.
Some dads looked a bit puzzled at first, but realized that their daughters knew exactly what to do: Fancy dress and party shoes means spinning and twirling. No instruction needed.
The dance program was led by the experts of Capital Cotillion.
The Father Daughter Dance event goal was to raise much-needed funds for the FOWS Foundation, a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing programs at Westbrook Elementary School.
