How would you describe your personal style?
"I go for classic with a twist, something figure flattering. I like black but with a pop of color. A little twist is chic."
Who are your style icons?
"I think everyone loves Audrey Hepburn for a reason. She could always make a little black cardigan and dress look so classy. Also, completely different but Gwen Stefani. She’s someone who pushes the envelope and always pulls off something that you wouldn’t think would work. My icons are a little all over the place!”
Where do you like to shop?
“I love consignment stores, like Chic to Chic in Gaithersburg, it’s slightly more upscale. I also like shopping vintage but mixing it up with something like Ann Taylor. A great vintage piece can go really far.”
What is one must-have wardrobe item?
“Killer shoes – something that will make any outfit perfect. I like Jeffrey Campbell, Sam Edelman and Vince Camuto. They’re edgy yet versatile.”
How has your style changed or evolved??
“When I first got into fashion, after I got out of my tomboy phase, I was really into the trends. I probably wore a few things I shouldn’t have. Now I’ve learned what looks good on me, and I’ll wear the trend if I like it and it’s flattering. I’ve definitely learned to wear what makes me happy, not what everyone else is doing.”
Fashion most embarassing moment??
“When I first got out of college, I was rushing to get ready one morning. I have this pair of heels in two different colors and I put on one of each – one black, one brown. I didn’t notice until I was walking around later but, hey, at least I was wearing the same shoe!”
