Emily Villalva, business director of what is now the Nival Spa & Salon, has just announced the new name of what was Hela Spa at The Collection at Chevy Chase.
The salon parted ways a year ago with celebrity stylist Ted Gibson, as well as with the Hela Spa in Georgetown. The services and philosophy will remain the same, but the new name is a reflection of that “we have been through the past year,” Villalva says.
Nival means “to flourish under snow.” So while the salon hasn’t been literally under a blanket of the cold stuff, it has flourished during a year of change, according to Villalva. “I feel the meaning speaks to our evolution as a company and team,” she says.
The salon, operated by Larmour LLC, will retain the same stylists and services. A new logo, website and a re-launch party are currently in the works.
