Mixt Greens, the upscale salad restaurant that opened last year in the Wildwood Shopping Center in Bethesda, has closed.
Founded in San Francisco in 2005, the chain has also closed its three restaurants in downtown Washington, but still retains locations in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The eco-gourmet shop, which used green building materials and packaging as well as sustainable ingredients, offered salads such as coriander-crusted seared ahi tuna with butter lettuce and mango citrus vinaigrette.
A spokeswoman for Federal Realty, the landlord of the shopping center, said the company is in discussions with a few potential retailers to fill the space and hopes to announce a signed retailer soon.
