In the mad rush to get those mall bargains at the big chains, don’t overlook the small guys, who are offering big discounts this time of year. Here’s a checklist:
- Ginger on Bethesda Lane is offering 50 percent off shoes, coats and fall apparel plus 30 percent off holiday styles (in time for New Year’s Eve).
- Wear It Well on Bethesda Avenue has slashed prices up to 75 percent on designer women’s apparel and accessories.
- Sylene lingerie in Chevy Chase is offering up to 50 percent off select bras, panties, slippers and lingerie from Cosabella, LaPerla, Eres, Natori and more. Co-owner Helen Kestler notes the sale ends Jan. 17.
- Julia Farr in Friendship Heights is closed through Jan. 2, but mark your calendars for the store’s annual January blowout sale running Jan. 10 through Jan. 21. Julia Farr sells classic and upcoming designers including Catharine Malandrino, Halston Heritage, Milly and Rachel Roy.
- Brides-to-be won’t want to miss Chevy Chase Bridal’s semi-annual sample sale—80 percent off every floor sample in the store. Find designer gowns by Badgley Mischka, Romona Keveza, Rosa Clara and more. If you buy a gown any time during January, you get a free one-month membership to Equinox gym in Bethesda.
- Score one for the men at Bruno Cipriani at White Flint Mall. The Italian menswear store is holding a liquidation sale with prices slashed 50 percent to 80 percent off. More details on the store’s future to come.
- Even though Nordstrom at Montgomery Mall is a big department store, we thought it worth mentioning that the guys get their own sale at Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly sale for men, which runs through Jan. 6. Find bargains on UGG, Levi’s, Marc New York and more.
