Black Friday starts at midnight

Both Westfield Montgomery and Wheaton malls premiere midnight openings for specials sales and events

November 22, 2011 8:48 a.m.

Once the Thanksgiving leftovers are safely sealed in Tupperware, the table cleared and the relatives gone, it’s time to allow ourselves to ponder holiday shopping.

For some that comes with dread; others can’t wait to get started and are ready to bolt out at 4 a.m. for Black Friday big box specials on TVs, washers, dryers, DVRs and any other number of techno-gadgetry.

But this year, shoppers are in for a civilized treat: For the very first time, both Wheaton and Westfield Montgomery malls are opening their doors at midnight on Black Friday.

They are also offering a VIP Shopping Experience Sweepstakes on Facebook to launch the event.

Each winner receives VIP parking, a swagbag including a $250 gift card, dinner for two and two movie tickets. Enter to win by visiting www.facebook.com/westfieldmontgomery or www.Facebook.com/WestfieldWheaton.

Here are a few of the shopping highlights, but check each mall’s website for the specifics.

Doors open at midnight, Nov. 25. The first 500 inside receive a goodie bag. All early birds can participate in sweepstakes, promotions and giveaways.
