The former Gaylord’s Lamp & Shades store on Leland Avenue in Chevy Chase will have new occupants this fall. Gary Jaffe of The Jaffe Group reports that Jason Miller of family-owned Miller’s Furs and Geoff Huguely of D.C.’s building supply dealer Galliher and Huguely each plan to take part of the building for separate businesses.

Jason Miller says he is hoping for a mid-October opening for the new location of Miller’s Furs, which he’ll move from 6900 Wisconsin Ave. He says they are gutting and redoing the site with plans to open a modern state-of-the-art showroom with an onsite workshop for custom and restorative work. The new location marks 90 years of business for the company.

Huguely is working on getting his space ready for a kitchen showroom featuring cabinetry and fixtures. We’ll keep you posted on openings and details as construction progresses.
