Life and relationship coach Amy Schoen, author of Get It Right This Time: How to Find and Keep Your Ideal Romantic Relationship, was the featured speaker at the Dress for Success benefit event on August 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase.

Twenty-five percent of proceeds from Schoen's book sales and 10 percent of proceeds from Bloomingdale's sales during the event was donated to Dress for Success, a national organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Founded in 1997, Dress for Success served more than 2,000 women in the D.C. area in 2010.

Schoen embraces the mission of Dress for Success, explaining "Everyone deserves another chance—whether economically, professionally or relationship-wise. With proper guidance, everyone can learn from the past and be more successful moving forward."

Get It Right This Time offers essential tips about connecting with and keeping a good relationship for those interested in figuring out who would make the right mate. Aimed primarily at adults ages 35-55, Amy explains her approach comprehensively, step by step: how to get started, what to look for in potential dates, where to find people who resonate with you, how to deal with discouragement and how to move forward when you do meet and commit to that special, right person.
