On Saturday, July 9, the Perez family of Perez Salon & Spa packed up their brushes and blow dryers and closed up shop at Rockville’s Congressional Plaza. The following Monday, Nasreen “Naz” Rahimi and Sagi Levi, the team behind Oxygen Hair Salon, moved in.

Although the sign still says “Perez Salon & Day Spa,” Oxygen is open for business with renovation plans in the works. “We want to brighten everything up,” Naz says.

The new 2,600-square-foot location at Congressional Plaza offers them double the space of their former Kensington shop. The salon has 17 chairs and offers a full range of services, including massages and facials. Former Perez clients will find a familiar faces in some of the stylists who remained as well as aesthetician Jennifer Brown and salon manager Harrod Harnerine.

A grand opening (and new signage) is slated for late September or early October.
