Community baseball fans spent a midsummer evening at Bethesda Magazine Night at the Big Train on July 6. Bethesda Big Train competed against Youse’s Orioles and the evening featured trivia with ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian. Our own editor and publisher, Steve Hull, threw out the first pitch and the local singing group, the Washington Revels, performed throughout the evening.
Bethesda Big Train is a summer collegiate baseball team that plays at Shirley Povich Field in Cabin John Park in Bethesda. The Big Train has created an atmosphere where athletes attending college become role models for children each summer.
