The New Restaurants

More than two dozen new restaurants have opened in the area in the past year, several of them by big-name chefs. We tell you which to visit-and which to pass by. Plus, a look at the new restaurants still to come.

What’s Coming

At press time, none of these restaurants was open yet—with the exception of Jake’s, Stella and Seasons 52, which had just opened and were too late to be reviewed for this issue. Most of the others are slated to be up and running soon, or by summertime. Check the Table Talk blog for updates on opening days, and for other new restaurants to come.

Blue 44: Classic American favorites in the old Señor Pepper space at 5507 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.

Bold Bites: Gourmet hot dogs from the Venezuelan Roche brothers at 4901 Fairmont Ave., Bethesda.

Freddy’s Lobster and Clams: New England-style seafood shack as interpreted by Grapeseed’s chef-owner Jeff Heineman at 4867 Cordell Ave., Bethesda.
