For Bethesda Magazine‘s March/April 2011 cover, Erick Gibson photographed Dominique Paul, a Gaithersburg screenwriter, as the cover model for the "Fame" issue at Rockville’s VisArts studio.

"Our ‘Fame’ cover concept was to create a ‘Who is that?’ moment, as if a pouty-lipped starlet or tawdry celebrity was dashing down Bethesda Avenue," said Maire McArdle, the magazine’s creative director.

McArdle said poser paparazzi remotely synched to Gibson’s lighting system, and "Dominique tossed her hair and pulled up her trenchcoat collar on demand as we fired flashes from all sides to simulate that star-struck moment of spotting someone famous on the street."

Neiman Marcus in Friendship Heights gave Paul her high-fashion transformation, and Jacquie Hannan styled hair and makeup.
